I am a bit confused...
I find myself around a lot of environmentalists who drink tap water.
Here's my deal: if you think pollution is seeping into our soil and ground water--why are you drinking out of the tap?
(Note: this is a completely different issue than protesting bottled water that sells facet juice)
(Other note: tap water does not include filtered tap water...I am referring to un-filtered tap water)

Maybe they just like the smell of tap water. For example, the water in DC has a unique odor that some people take quite a fancy to.
I hope that is sarcasm
I think its because of the non-bottled water, and either a lack of accessibility to a filter (being at a friend's or in public) or paying attention to the quality of tap whatever in whatever municipality they're in.
interestingly, i've been told the tap water here in cape town is the second or third best in the world
