Antarctic shelf "hangs by thread"

wonderful:

A chunk of ice the size of the Isle of Man has started to break away from Antarctica in what scientists say is further evidence of a warming climate.

Satellite images suggest that part of the ice shelf is disintegrating, and will soon crumble away.

Hmmm... I live in the Isle of Man and it's not that big a place :)

It's 32 miles long, and between 8-15 miles wide.

I'd say that is significant in terms of the antarctic shelf breaking away, especially when others have been since the 1990s.
