Bhutto and veiled women

While Bhutto's assassination may wreak even more havoc in Pakistan, it is also sad to witness the death of a strong female leader who gave voice and political viability to veiled women. As a former prime minister and opposition leader, Bhutto empowered the veil and sent a clear message to Westerners and, more importantly, other women in similar garb--silence and covering are not one in the same.
